well the its got to be higher ince labour club ,that is because i work there and my husband is the boss. we sell the best beer round wigan, have the best bar staff,the sexiest steward and of course ME!!! wot more can i say...

i might pop you never know im coming down to wigan 2morrow anyway

fridays are good if u r into rugby saturdays if u like to listen to a group or sundays if ur an old fogie and just like to listen to a singer

Have you ever tasted the mild beer in there Mandie, If you have then you will know why I dont come in any more on a friday!??? why does your better half only drink red wine or have I answered my own question

brendans favourite drink in the club happens to be bass mild,and if the boss drinks it ,it speaks for itself dont it?
he drinks red wine on fridays only for a change...

My local is The Eckersley Arms, great beer, great food, great entertainment, great karaoke (when im on) 2 big screens for sport and the best landlord i've ever known. Not much else i can say really, would be in every day if i could afford it.

I have been going in the club a lot longer than Brendan has and I have never seen him drink a pint of mild including when he was a member of the darts team ,before the time of mandie, when he was just an up and coming wannabee

oooooooooooooooooo well ive been with him for 14 years and he has drunk it in all that time, i know cos i serve him it . he has lager when out with the lads or mild if he is staying in the club ,and at the moment he has started drinking magners as well,just because he can!!!!!

So can I if someone is daft enough to buy it for me, never been one to refuse a persons hospitality,

Nice that Magners, lot of old timers (no offence Brendan) drink mild or mix, my father in law does, its always been the cheapest as well, but that Magners seems to be becoming more popular these days.

I like a glass of cider, but usually stick too strongbow, always have it with a meal it seems to sharpen my appetite better than a glass of wine, but I must say I am not over keen on the taste of that mangers, and why have we only just started to hear about it ? where has it been all these years

Don't know where its been all these years aitch, but a friend of mine told me its always been in Ireland, bit like Guiness but the first time i had it was Paddies night this year, it was buy one get one free int local, now loads sup it, i heard that they've got enough orders to last them 5 years at their factory in paddyland.

Theres another bottled cider similar to Magners called Bulmers original, thats nice as well, i know the taste you mean aitch with Magners and Bulmers has'nt got it, still nice though.

One of the first drinks I ever had was bulmers original,and the first time I ever went on holiday down south to torquay and tried the original scrumpy served out of an open ended barrel with bits and pieces of god knows what in it. Put me off cider for a lot of years the taste of that particular brew did

wehave got both magners and bulmers in the club magners is more popular but thats because there has been lots of tv adverts for it i have tried magners but not bulmers.

From memory I think the only pub I went to in Wigan was The Park Hotel near the 'bus station,always good on a Friday night for the jazz club and a good pint.My first experience of cider was at what we would describe as a milkbar,Massa's in Cunliffe Street,Chorley,a favourite haunt on the weekend.The owner,oblivious of the licensing laws,was selling Showerings cider,sweet and dry,to minors,an intoxicating experience.The authorities eventually spotted the mistake so then we had to get our booze from the off-licence.Massa's was absorbed into the Frederick's ice cream business,though all part of the same family,they were rivals in the '40s,'50s and '60s.

i used to like sams bar in scholes n alexandra in whelley. alexandra is a realy nice pub..does any1 go in the oak tree in ince?

Thanks for writing in english zoe now I can understand you,I go in the Oak now and again also the Bush, Belle Green, Mr Earls, Fox and Labour club but my favourite watering hole on a sat night is St Bills. I used to live up that end of Ince in Langdale, so that is why I got to frequenting them places,but cant drink much now as I have a heart condition so have to take it easy on the booze (im sorry to say) still a nice walk on a sat night and a gill in every pub up and down the lane does me no harm at all.

Fishy, you said you new my face, i used to deliver milk with my Dad in Chatham St, Ince and all the other streets around there, up until leaving school, i've put on about 3 stone since then though.

sorry aitch if u didnt understand my writing before, yes fishy its stil there, i live on west st, so i used to go in there now and again, but not anymore they barred me for something i didnt do

I must agree with Mandy, Both me and my hubby when saving up to get married waited on tables in Higher Ince Labour club, we worked hard but enjoyed the atmosphere. When we come over next week from OZ we will be down there for a few bevvies. See Ya

Which Chatham St are you on about, the one at the top of Henry Park St. Cause thats were I came from.My hubby played darts all over Wigan, but he is not in at the moment so I can't ask him which pub he liked best. He used to live back of Amberswood tavern, I think that is why he knows a lot of old songs, the singing room was right next to his bedroom.

cab, i went in 1 nite with a mate of mine, n just had a quiet drink n a chat n the next time i went in the landlord sed that the couch were we sat had got slashed with a knife, i tried 2 go in since n he sed he knew i didnt do it but i was still barred. also what i didnt understand was, the first time i went in i had long extentions in my hair, so how did he recognise me the next time cos i have short hair, also he knew what street i live on. i am defo not the kind of person to go round vandalising places never mind carrying a knife with me, i have agoraphobia, so i dont get out anyway very often,,sorry im going on..lol..bet u wish u never asked now

the best club in wigan is ince rosebridge rugby club. its the best pint around. and you have a great laugh in there. there is never no trouble and everyone is really friendly

iv`e just spent a few hours in the Balmoral at hindley watching wigan stuff leeds and the atmosphere was something special

One of the oldest, and best Pub's in Wigan has got to be the John Bull, where you can get a great pint of Guinness, and it's the only pub in wigan that doesn't have bouncer's on the door at weekends,

Ive been to the Orwell a couple of times once for a 60th birthday and once for a wedding reception quite recently but the next time I go I will take my own whiskey with me I cant afford their prices

I used to love going to the John Bull.
It had the best jukebox in Wigan too!

Oh! The John Bull has to be the best pub in Wigan! It has a great atmosphere and i've never seen any bother in there! Oh...and the beers good too :)
