Heard some of them, but not my cup of tea.

I don't know who posted this topic - sorry! Looks like the 'bug' on the site still exists and I'm taking a break for a little while.

It was definitely Shirley Bassie who sang "Kiss me,honey kiss me",and if my memory serves me right it was Slim Whitman who recorded "Mexicali Rose",but before him it was Bing Crosby in the film of the same name (1938) and Gene Autrey the following year.

MICHAEL HOLLIDAY
Story Of My Life

Starry Eyed
THE STORY OF MY LIFE - 14/02/1958
2 weeks at #1 - 15 weeks on chart

Someday I'm going to write
The story of my life
I'll tell about the night we met
And how my heart can't forget
The way you smiled at me

There is a fabulous website for finding out who sang what and when - www.everyhit.com. Very useful indeed, for when one wants to appear knowledgeable about the popular music scene !!!
