Just got my renewal through from Eon for duel fuel
Gas charge per therm was 2.811 pence now 4.04 pence
Gas standing charge was 21.699 per day now 26.12 an increase of over£15 per year
Elect charge per therm was 15,864 pence now20,14
Elect standing charge was19,258 per day now 24.38 an increase of over £18 per year
I was paying £91 per month now starting at £110 per month variable. I am in credit for £339. If I had gone for a fixed rate term over 2 years they wanted £230 per month

So, are you going to be eating porridge and cuddling your neighbours?

anyone who is still with eon needs someone to look into their head . i was with eon for more that 20yrs even before they bought it & all they do is rip-off their customers . i,m with octopus now & my payments are nowhere near the payments eon are asking . get real & change .

so what it will still be cheaper than eon i can say that much .

My combined gas and electric bill for dec/jan was £173.41 and for the same period last year,exact number of days, it was £127.92.
A huge increase, and I am with Octopus, so I think everybody will be affected,and the elderly on basic pensions who need to keep warm to survive will suffer.

And the Tories have just voted against a cut in VAT on energy bills.
No surprise there then!!

The Tories have voted against no such thing, so get your facts right.
If they did cut the VAT on electric and gas, then everyone would benefit, including rich people, so they are looking to target the people who are struggling to pay, with a benefit increase of some sort.

Although they could if they wished cut the VAT, that option is only possible, because we have left the EU

VARIABLE
Elec £792.00 Gas £931
or a FIXED RATE for 2 years
Elec. £1,428 Gas. £2,206


Is it any use shopping around or are all the companies more or less the same charges.?
I can see a lot of METER TAMPERING being done in the future, in some households..who don't have the SMART METERS fitted

Well I missed that, because it wasn't widely reported, and the reason was that is was a motion to force the government introduce a bill, to reduce the VAT and introduce a windfall tax and the energy companies, if that had happened, and the government introduced such a bill, then that is the bill they would vote on to reduce the VAT, it was a trouble making parliamentary tactic, which opposition parties use, and if the Tories were in opposition, they would be doing the same thing, but it is a free country Fossil, and if you want to make a big ting about it, yoo and that Whupsy, can crow away to your hearts content, about it

But to repeat meself, Boris said that cutting the VAT would cut the electric bills of rich people, has well as the ordinary folk, and it is only 5% but folk on benefits need a damn site more than 5% off their bills, and if the rich folk pay the VAT, then that could help pay for the people on benefits to receive direct help to pay their energy bills, which to me makes more sense.

why did the pound drop so much.A friend of ours who is like a son,goes to university, told us the pound was lower. My uncle and parents are planning to go to Scotland in a few months. my mom was shocked when we told her to look up the pound.

It is now a waste of time shopping around for a better deal.

The other day, I contacted our energy supplier to get a quotation off them for my hadicapped daughter who lives at a different address.

I was told that unless we were willing to pay around a 400% increase, it was better to stay with her present supplier.

What the hell is going on when businesses are turning custom away in this way.

If you go on Uswitch and Go Compare, all you get told after giving detail of a usage, is a message saying that because of the present situation, they can no longer give any comparisons of tariffs.

Time that the muppets of all parties that sit in Parliament did something about the seriousness of the matter or is it that they are too busy feathering their own nests and holding parties to bother of how the hike in prices is affecting the ordinary people who keep voting for them.

As long as your roof isn’t totally shaded with trees etc. and is facing upwards, you’ll be fine!
