I see they are having large fires over in the USA, I think that is (may be more) a country i dont want to live in with disaster after disaster, how many people must be homeless, We may be just a little island in this world but we dont get disasters as bad .as they do.God bless the UK.

They should build proper houses that don’t have their roofs sucked off every time they get a strong gust of wind!

I have to agree with both Bentlegs and tonker , first we do not get things like that and hope we never will , then with Tonker they do have a bad habit of building their homes with nothing but wood , so when the fire's come they have no chance , i think a new strategy of house construction should be implemented . May be it is cheaper to build houses out of timber in the USA/ Australia but then they build them into the forest without having a fire break between the trees and the houses.

The fires in California are directly and solely due to the deliberate policies of California’s lunatic left-wing governor Newsom who believes everything the environuts tell him in fairy tales about how forests should be left “natural."

Other states, Georgia is one fine example, don’t suffer from forest fires although their forests are each much bigger than those of California. Those states manage their forests. They cut fire breaks, they clear dead trees, (that they sell as fuel at a profit) they have spotters watching for outbreaks from towers around the clock. Result, beautiful forests and few or no fires.

The environuts don’t want that. California no longer cuts fire breaks. Dead and highly flammable trees are left on the ground, providing fuel and a barrier to firefighters. The building of watch towers is forbidden as the forest must not be disturbed and those nasty fire spotters should not pollute nature with their presence. And cute little mice would have to run around them and what an inconvenience that would be. The result, fires and deaths every year, devastating to people, houses and wildlife. And more to come.
