Barclays Blue Rewards

Started by: PeterP (11291)

Is it worth it NOW? A few years ago Barclays started a Blue Rewards scheme. If you had two Direct Debits with them they would give you £3-50 for each D/D per month but you paid a fee of £3 per month.
Paid in £36 reward £84 per year profit £48. They then upped the fee to £4 a month.
Paid in £48 reward £84 per year profit £36. Next year they are upping the fee to £5 reward £84 per year profit £24. If you have a spare £5 per month then £2 a month is profit but some people may need to spend the money

Is it not going up to £5 per direct debit so if you have two it will be £10 a month?

Scorpion it is a fee of £5 per month out of your account. You have to have 2 direct debits on which you get £3-50 per D/D off them. So you will pay them £5 a month to get £7 back .When it 1St started you got back £48 after April 2022 you will get £24 back

Just looking through mine now......

Insurance reward CB £1.15
Loyalty reward DD CB£ 3.50 and £7.00
Mortgage reward CB £5.00

The more DDs you have and the more Barclays products you use the more you get back.......thats how it works

And don't forget the 0.15% interest you get on your Blue rewards saving account for being a member

Blue rewards might not be of benefit for you Peter but it is for many others.....including me

There will be a catch in it somewhere.

Only catch is the £4 a month charge and the £800 a month you have to pay into a linked Barclays account......oh and you must sign up for mobile or on line banking

If you take out a loan or life insurance they will also give you a few quid back for them

If you bank and save with Barclays and use them for loans and insurance its money for nothing, it really is

Peter isn't going to get much back with just his 2 DDs but for someone with 2DDs, a mortgage, a loan, house and life insurance and a serious amount of savings they don't want to risk its a different story

Stardelta My house is paid for and I have got insurance elsewhere cheaper than the bank. Glad to see you make a bit of money from the bank.
