Ride out.?

Started by: peebee (728)

Do any of the bikers on this forum fancy a get together and an afternoon ride out in the country somewhere. Just a few hours at a legal pace and a stop for a cuppa and a chat.?..................Just a thought with the weather sort of improving slightly.

Well if you all like this I suggest we meet up at the 'Tickled Trout' car park off the M6 at Preston. That's about 30 minutes from for my home , and it must be similar for you fellas. If that's Ok I will plan a route and a coffee stop that lasts about four or five hours, if that's too long lets have some more suggestions .
If we meet up around eleven o clock that should get us back to the starting point at three or fourish .
That's just my ideas but if any of you have any other ones feel free to chirp up.

I'd have to have notice for a Tuesday (it isn't out of the question!), but I'm in Spain from this Sunday until the 26th.

Although, I can't understand why, seeing as we all live relatively close, we need to meet up 25 miles away, at the Tickled Trout?

Its nowt do with me I know but, If i was organizing a run, i'd meet,
Westwood, its a car park with not many on it just off the new A49 extension road, So its hand for the motorway network, then after a quick meeting set some cones out and do, doughnutting, wheelies, bunny hops , flip flops and burnouts, there is no one there to object, If you like I will come and do a video,
Hells aunties meet 2021,

Because it's half way between all of us. If you want me to come to Wigan it would be a good idea if you organise everything as it's in your back garden and you know the area. Blackpool is forty miles from Wigan so not relatively close for me.

BB, thanks for your kind offer but, No Thanks,, My motor bike days ended in 1982 when i traded in my 1971 Triumph Bonnie for a pram, Since then I never yearned to reinvent my youth because bikes have come a long way but the driving skills of others have diminished, I see motor bikes today as a loose canon with the human canon ball holding on for dear life, if the bike hits something, the canon ball takes off and is in gods hands and if someone hits the bike, The canon ball takes off there as well, Its a lose lose situation, In a 'Baccy' situation the canon becomes a double barrel canon, Not for me I'm afraid, Here's a pic of my bonnie in 1973, I'm the one with my back to the camera

The laws of biking as I was Teached!!
1. Only travel at a speed so you can Safely stop in the distance you can see to be clear.
2. Never exceed your own limitations.
3. Concentration assists observation.
4. Treat everything on a road as a Threat.
5. Always expect the unexpected.
6. There is Always something lurking around that bend.

Follow the above for safe riding today and tomorrow.

I fully understand those rules BB and I do know the thrill of motor bike riding, So much so that I was not so disciplined and broke most of those rules from time to time and I know I'm not the only guilty person of doing so, Its the nature of the beast, I wish you and your buddies a long and happy motor biking life,
Stay safe BB,

Good set of rules there BB, won't go far wrong following them. I always rode with the mindset, treat every other road user as an idiot until they've proved otherwise.

I don't go so deep into it as to quote a list of road rules.

Have a great day out chaps, it's a nice run that I have done myself, if I had two fewer wheels I would join you.

On another note, I went to Capesthorne Hall today near Macclesfield for the Classic Car and Bike meet, dozens of vintage bikes and around 400 cars, a great day out. However, around an hour queueing to get in sat in an open topped car has left me looking like a tomato.
