New road measures poolstock

Started by: GOLDEN BEAR (6556)

I would just like to ask my fellow WW s what you think about the road markings along poolstock lane ie i notice the dotted lines they have done but and here is my poser there is NO MIDDLE of the road line down so i beg the question where would one stand if an accident occurs if one driver crosse's over from his own side to the other there is nothing to distinguish one side from the other ,i think it could cause an insurance problem as i say on a normal road one has the centre painted line's down the middle but for long stretches of the lane there is nothing as of yet unless the council paint them later ???? It is supposed to make motorists drive slower and more carefully, so it is a traffic calming measure.

Its more wasted money by the council, dotted lines for traffic calming, At your end GB, the traffic are complying better by parking inside the dotted lines, up at my end, they are still parking on the kerb so, the lines don't make an iota of difference, I think they should have moved the kerbs out as in Poolstock near the shops, and put a proper cycling lane in too, for me,

Centre marker lines can only be erased from roads less than 18 foot wide and then they should be replaced with edge marker lines.
Poolstock Lane is wider than 18 foot, especially at Tom's end.
Poolstock, on the other hand, is quite narrow.
