Man Versus Food

Man Versus Food.

I love watching TV cookery programmes and watch all the food shows shown on the terrestrial and Freeview channels.
There is one programme which stands out, but for all the wrong reasons.
‘Man Versus Food’, anybody watch it?, Food Channel, Freeview channel 41.

It’s presented by Casey Webb, a larger than life character with a serious appetite.
Basically, they go into a restaurant and are presented with a food challenge, to eat a serious amount of food within a given time.
The quantities of food are gargantuan.
They eat huge hamburgers, vast amounts of meat and pounds and pounds of fries.
They also do ‘hot’ challenges, a normal portion of food but with fiery chillies, sometimes several thousands of Scholeville heat units.
Then there are the desserts, huge plates full of cream, ice cream, sponge and sweet sauces weighing several pounds, I seriously worry of the amount of sugar they ingest.
It is absolutely disgusting, but I continue to watch it!!!!!!! LOL.

I like cookery programmes too. I think I will give that one a miss though.
I don't think I want to watch anyone gorge themselves on grotesque amounts of food.
There are enough obese people around these days without encouraging it.

I like Masterchef too and bake off but I enjoy it for the competition more than the food . I don't like the sound of Man versus Food!

Man v Food

I have watched a few of them, and I must say that some of the burger and chicken, and other creations have had me drooling, but I can't stand the gorging part of the program, so I turn it off at that point

Yes, totally agree, the gorging is a bit stomach wrenching, but he does visit restaurants to sample their normal menus the food is generally quite good, that said US portions are pretty big, and they do like their meat.
NJ, I have to disagree with you, I hate Masterchef with a vengeance, the food is pretentious and reliant on imagery rather than content, it’s not proper daily food.
They boil down a hundredweight of vegetables to make a teaspoon of ‘jus’ to swirl on the plate LOL !!!!!
