Impressed.

Started by: jathbee (11463)

I had my first injection of the AstraZeneca vaccine today, down at Robin Park.
I must say how impressed I was at the efficiency of the staff involved in executing this massive operation.
I was in and out in no time at all and the hygiene and social distancing was very well organised too. I didn't feel in anyway that my safety was compromised.
So we'll done to the NHS and all those support workers who where there to oversee the operation. And a big thank you to them all.

I had mine a week ago jathbee & the level of cleanliness was unbelievable, as soon as one person got up from a chair the man was spraying & cleaning, the nurses were pleasant & caring,I had really bad reaction the day after, shivering, freezing cold & felt drunk & I don't drink. But since then felt brilliant

Has the AstraZeneca replaced the Pfizer one at Robin Park? Everyone I have spoken to had the Pfizer including me two weeks ago.
Wonder if it will be a mix and match for the second one. Some news concerning the AstraZeneca not able to suppress the African strain fully.

I had the Pfizer one three weeks ago,my GP said as I'd already had the Covid to expect to feel off for couple of days after the jab..but it only lasted a day.
They have to be applauded for the effiency,it was so organised...just waiting for the second one now.

Looks like it's whatever can be obtained. My next door neighbours had the Pfizer last Sunday.

Any vaccine containing the African Green Monkey liver cells (veroE6) will be effective against the African strain.
"An urge to run up the nearest lamp-post and swing off the top, while chattering and showing your teeth, is a side-effect", said a spokesperson for the NHS, yesterday.

I heard that, at the Saints ground, you get a free cup of tea and a banana after your injection?
I might've considered going for it, had it been a cup of tea and a pie!

Me and Mrs RMJ had the AstraZeneca vaccine on Tuesday afternoon this week at our local doctors here in Westhoughton.
Thankfully we didn’t suffer any major side effects apart from a little tenderness where the injection went in.
We even got our dates for our second jab, 21st April.
They had a ‘one way’ system in place using the internal corridors, we queued 2 metres apart, then directed into different doctors surgeries.
Two nurses inside, one taking medical details and one administering the vaccine, .all over in minutes and then directed outside via a different corridor, never passed close to anybody, all very safe.

It's worth coming on here just to read some of Tonker's posts. They make me laugh out loud.

Had mine yesterday - Astra Zeneca, I was in and out before my appt time so dealt with swiftly and efficiently. Wasn't too well last night and today, headache, bit of a temperature and muscle joint pains, paracetamol got on top of it so hopefully easing off now. Still it's done now.

Very impressed with everyone at Robin Park today where we had our first jab (Astra Zeneca).

No waiting, straight in jabbed and back out in less than 10 minutes.
