Don't know if this ones been done before...

Started by: chatty (9749)

I was walking under Wallgate bridge earlier today and was telling my lad about the old question that used to be asked when the Wheatsheaf pub was open at the top of Queen Street.
Roughly how much would it cost in a taxi to get from the Wheatsheaf to The Swan and Railway without going under a bridge? (About 50 yards tops on foot)
A lot more than you first imagine for anyone who hasn't heard it before.

I would say that since the reinstatement of the bridge on Poolstock Lane, on the new road, it is now impossible to do what yoo suggest ....

There are not that many roads around Wigan were you do not have to go under a bridge unless this is a trick question

indeed the bridge at scot lane got me at first... you need to get the m6 from orrell, and go either through shevvy or standish and in each case do spencer road bridge... otherwise you get stuck at buckley rd bridge or park road bridge or frog lane bridge... then down wigan lane past tesco, loop around the old police station and do king street presuming it's not closed, do then a left !... was a lot easier when it was 2 way by the sati bag for non buses like

T.T.S. - we've decided that a bridge which has been removed still qualifies as a bridge. Therefore, the bridge, which has been demolished, on Walthew Lane still qualifies as a bridge and you can't have that route. Sorry!

Between 2000 & 2005 courtesy of Googol Earth

Yoo see is this Tonker moving the goal posts, is he cheeting

Not necessarily, because the Wheatsheaf hasn't been there for 35yrs

But in any case in any scenario, I think the Tonker judgement should be upheld and applied

So it is the same Qwanderry, in that what is the shortest root in a taxi, between the Swan & Railway and the Wheatsheaf, without going under 'any' bridge at 'any' time in [[[DOCUMENTED]] history
