Disturbing statistics... But is it right that Oldham is choosing to innoculate their homeless persons in preference to those who are obviously more needy. ?

Back to topic, "Covid-19 case rates" .... New cases are dropping across the UK.

That's not what they said on the news, They said cases have dropped slightly in Laaaaandaaarn but new infections are going up,

I have to say, yesterday was higher than the day before but, overall, the statisticians are saying it's falling as they take a seven day average.

At that very moment in time, when Chris Whitty said "the covid positive tests were still rising across the UK" (same film as was on yesterday) (and the day before) I was actually studying some graphs of statistics on a government linked site.

And this is what it said ......

The official UK Government website for data and insights on Coronavirus (COVID-19).
UK Summary

You have to agree, that a 29,139 drop in positive cases, over seven days, doesn't show a rise. Does it?

Av sed it before and I'll say it agen

figures can lie, and liars can figure, You have to use your own judgement,
my judgement says,
the town centre is quiet, the roads are quiet, people are wearing masks, people are giving space and abiding the rools,

the infections in Wigan are not falling, So, where do we go from here ???

Tom, I think I get about a lot more than you do. And, I can assure you, the roads are not quiet, people are nat all wearing masks, people are not giving space and are not abiding the rules.
It's all bullshit!
If 'figures can lie, and liars can figure', it follows that the figures given about Wigan can also be lies? And there's no bigger liars than Wiganers (especially pseudos!)

Also, when they say 'Wigan', where so they mean?

Tonker,
Time for you to get back to reality. Is Atherton in Wiggin, Bowton, Leyth or Timbuktu. If I want a medical opinion an Owd pitman or a blind man will be just below a paper person.

Replied: 15th Jan 2021 at 04:55

Posted by: tonker (27833)

Broady, I haven't tried to give any medical opinions.
And what's Atherton got to do with it?

All I'm doing is telling it as it is. I'm out and about, every day, seven days a week. Liverpool, Manchester, Preston, loads of places in between. Hitchin, near to Stevenage last week. Buckshaw Village yesterday.
Lockdown? It doesn't exist for me.
I see loads of people, in loads of places, some wearing facemasks, many not, Nobody seems to be 'staying in'. Garage, in Leigh, is very busy, car sales next door very busy, can't move for folk. "Mask?. Eh? "

But, that's a different issue.

The 'figures'. That's what I quoted. All these numbers, of all these things. Tests, positive, died, died inhospital, died at home, not died, got run over - had covid test four weeks ago - died of covid,
battled with cancer for four years - had covid test four weeks ago - dies ...... of covid?.

Then Chris Whitty says "cases are going up" when the 'officially published, government produced, figures' say the opposite ????????

Well, this afternoon, after I've finished this cup of tea and toast butty, I'm going to a house in Newton le Willows, then another one in Hindley. And I'll bet you a pound to a piece of shit that the traffic will be nose to tail and both places will be full of folk, out shopping, walking round, as if it's normal.

Me? Well, I'm all right, me. I've not got covid. Well, I coughed a few times this morning, when I was cleaning my teeth. I blamed it on breathing in the toothpaste froth. It might've been covid! Who knows?
If I drop-deeeud later on, in Hindley, don't let 'em give me a number and call me a statistic!

BUT, seriously now (straight face an'all) ..... the figures! Check the figures!

Walsh is a common Irish surname, meaning "Briton" or "foreigner", literally "Welshman" or "Wales", taken to Ireland by soldiers from Britain, namely Welsh, Cornish and Cumbrian soldiers during and after the Norman invasion of Ireland. It is most common in County Mayo and County Kilkenny.

"Foreigner" it is then

One thing I don't understand about masks is if there are around 40000 cases everyday then surely some of these cases would of been from people who were wearing a mask at the time they caught it?

I know masks don't protect you but protect others when you wear one but makes you think about how useful they are. Virus particles can get in your eyes, ears and nose as they are that small.

If 40,000 people a day are getting covid19, in four and a half years, everybody will have had it. Unless some people are greedy and catch it twice!

Replied: 16th Jan 2021 at 21:31

those figures are for people who go for a test, the more they test, the more they find, So if they only test half, there will only be 20,000 a day Max, if they test 60.000 they might find more so, the solution is,
Stop testing, problem solved,

Replied: 16th Jan 2021 at 21:39

Indeed! Also, if everybody is tested, and everybody is positive, it follows that everybody who dies will have died with Covid19.
Then, when they inject everybody with 'the vaccine', nobody will die of anything!

(that's why more people are dying 'with covid' now than were dying 'with covid' before they started testing people).

Normally at this time of year there are photo’s of ambulances lined up outside the RAEI and the corridors full and appeals to keep away from hospitals. I read in our local paper last week “ that there had been no reported cases of flu in Alberta this winter” That seems strange.

No one is catching flu and you think it is strange William?

If you haven't noticed.......almost everybody around the world is wearing masks, social distancing, sanitising everything in sight and staying at home!

And you wonder why no one is catching flu?

I had you down as relatively bright.

Replied: 16th Jan 2021 at 22:47

I think plenty are catching flu but Covid seems to be blamed for everyone’s death. Get knocked down, go in hospital, catch Covid and that is cause of death. With that I bid YOU goodnight. Some snow to shovel off the roof.

Wearing a mask can also stop you from getting the flu. In Japan its been a sign of being polite for a long time (as far back as 1918 spanish flu period) when it cut down the infection rate. That's why even before the pandemic people wore masks to cut down the seasonal flu period.
