It has been brought to my attention that ALL the doctors in the WIGAN AREA will not be giving out the vaccine . My sister rand her local surgery and was told by the receptionist that they will not be giving jabs also she says no doctors in the wigan area will be either.

I think this is a load of whitewash why oh why can't they get on board and start dishing out these jabs ???? she was told that the DW stadium is one of the places that will be doing it . It beggars belief that there will only be one outlet for a town the size of WIGAN .I just thinks it stinks !!!!

Vaccination Centres

The vaccination centres need a lot of space for social distancing. After the jab is given the recipients have to sit down for 15 minutes to make sure they don’t have a reaction to the vaccine.
Very few, if any, GP surgeries in Wigan would have enough room for the seating area needed.

I am sure I read that the latest update was you didn’t need the fifteen minute sit down.

Mum had her vaccine, followed by a 15 minute sit down. It was straightforward, no queues outside and very well run inside. Mum's GP will be in contact about her 2nd vaccine which will take place at Robin Park in about 10-11 weeks time

Got my call this morning for the jab at the Leisure Centre on Friday.have to find it yet.

Wigan, GB, is only a small town. And it didn't stink the last time I went!

BUT, if you park on the car park, then walk to the leasure centre, you're likely to get a fine if you're seen 'leaving the site'.

Tonker never said anything about parking on Robin Park there is plenty of room (2 car parks) at the leasure centre. I was trying to help Momac get her bearings and some people may have to use public transport. And I agree with you about the parking fine.A few years ago a bloke parked near Wickes and walked over to Asda and when he got back he had a ticket on his car for exactly the reason you gave

This must have been what I read. It depends on the vaccine administered.

It's being said that the second jab in 10-11 weeks may not be as effective as having it three weeks later. Geoffrey Boycott was on TV this morning saying he wished he hadn't bothered with the first one now.

"They are saying that if you get the second injection in 21 days it will go up to 94 percent which is very good.

"They are saying there are no trials they have done after 21 days.

"So if you get it after 12 weeks like the Government says then they are not sure if it works or not."

Sir Geoffrey also admitted he had not wanted the Pfizer vaccine as he urged Britons to "wait for the AstraZeneca"

"If I had my way I would have not had the Pfizer, I would have waited for the AstraZeneca because trials have been done and they know it works after three months."

One more thing we are having a massive spike over here at the moment and they are putting it down to under 19 year old's 38% of who are sick!!! and we are still getting the second jap after 3 weeks also i get mine on Sunday

Spoke to a gentleman this morning who lives at Platt Bridge and he has to go to Widnes for his jab

Been told this morning by a Doctor that if you've already had the Covid to expect to be a bit off for a couple of days..so I'm going to do my bulk shop tomorrow before I go there.
