They don't need to stop people as roadside ANPR cameras are already recording where you are.

The authorities are taking the thing a lot more seriously than for the first two lockdowns.

I agree Tonker. we need clarification on what Local is. A nearby NT property said yesterday that their grounds re open to local walkers. I asked how close is local and they gave me the GOv link which says a short walk is fine to get to an open space. Yesterday I read last night that we are to keep with our own village or part of the city. So give us a limit, 1 mile 2 mile or 5 mile .

Take the taxi rank on Standishgate, in the lockdown last year, the first one, you would have been lucky to have found two taxis on that taxi rank outside of Primark, and if yoo did, then that Billinge Biker would have been happy, because they would have been white drivers, but yesterday the rank was full from top to bottom, and unlike last year, there were plenty of brown and black drivers, you can't say coloured drivers, so Billinge Biker would have been shocked

After saying fishing wasn't allowed on wednesday they changed their mind and now its back on.

I've noticed a lot of police cars on the road since this lockdown came in, it's always been a novelty to see the police before this. Has there been a mass breakout from HMP Hindley or are they really after the rule breakers?

Guidance for the current lockdown says people can travel for exercise as long as it is in their "local area". However, the actual legislation does not specify a maximum distance that people are allowed to travel for exercise.

So basically there is NO law against travelling to exercise. The guidance is NOT legally binding and the police have NO power to enforce it unless it is reflected in the lockdown regulations which in this case it is NOT

Derbyshire police fined 2 Ladies £200 each after they drove 5 miles in separate cars to a local reservoir to go for a walk.

Jessica Allen and Eliza Moore were walking at Foremark Reservoir, Derbyshire, when they were stopped by officers and fined £200 each.

At the time Derbyshire Police insisted driving to exercise was "not in the spirit" of the most recent lockdown.

But new national guidance for police has led the force to quash the fines, and apologise to the women.
