Irony
It is ironic isn't it, how things can turn around, and the opposite becomes true
Ooood a thowt, that Gwim Weeper/Mac would have ended up working for Wigan Council, and his arch enemy Mr Sledge, would have stopped working for Wigan Council

Another Irony
Ron suggested that Beech Hill Avenue right turn lane, which is for traffic turning right into Woodhouse Drive, be lengthened by widening the road on the bend just after the junction with Beech Hill Lane, thereby helping the traffic flow down Beech Hill Avenue, because where the bend was located was just a big grass verge, so widening it would have been a simple and none expensive and surely a cost-effective way of improving the traffic flow
Alas though Mr Sledge slapped down Ron with a "wot the hell doo yoo know about roads" comment, the answer being "I drive on them, thats what I know about them, the question should be the opposite in that "what doo YOO know about roads" because it is supposed to be your job !!!!
How ironic is it that two years later the Council did exactly what Ron had suggested, and they widened Beech Hill Avenue on the bend, thus lengthening the right turn lane ......

I did!
I saw him after he'd been clearing a knocked-down wall away in Hindley. He said it'd been hit by a lorry. It said "Wigan Couyncil Laaaaike" on the back of his Hi-Viz jacket. He was clean, but the other two he was with looked like they'd been amongst it. I think he's a bit of a boss. I asked him if he was a 'community service officer', because the others he was with looked a bit like raaaaight a couple of scallies, laaaaike. (one might've been star-delta, (with his wandering earth-point?))

The man (Mr Sledge) the 'Legend' deserves an entire topic on this subject, so I have given an answer to your question in this topic.
