I read an article on items to stockpile when Armageddon arrives and mushy peas were high on the list. It looks like I'm not the only one who read the article . Unless tinker has been up to no good like a typical yicker

You wouldn’t think mushy peas would be the best item to stash in a bunker, I-Spy. The air inside could soon be as toxic as out.

Speaking personally it's just a gentle fragrance

Actually

I noticed the same thing last Monday in Lidle, not only were there no mushy peas or marrowfat peas, there was nowhere on the shelf for them to go, it was as though they had stopped selling them

Then you’re lucky in that respect at least I-Spy.

It makes it difficult to understand why no one seems to want me in their bubble.

Yes, I-Spy, you should cause a stink!

If Lidl are stopping selling peas, TTS , keep your eyes peeled & you might find some lying around. (And if others have missed them they could well be mushy too).

We buy a 2lb bag of peas and add bicarbonate in a big pan. Use what we want and freeze the rest in bags with enough for two. We do the same with carrots and turnip.

We can't buy turnips in England supermarkets. We have to make-do with swedes. Mind you, they taste the same!

We have Rutabaga’s. Same as Swede I think but we can get turnips.

Tea tonight, homemade meat and tata pie with mushy peas and sliced onions in vinegar. Luvly.

That does sound good, Linma. (But I bet “mushy peas” has made I-Spy green with envy).

I think you’ll find we can.

There’s an International Mushy Pea Day - who knew? It’s early in November.
