Hello sailor

I'm thinking of going to live on a narrowboat when circumstances permit.
Anyone got experience of life at 5mph. Pros and cons please

By jove eyes pie, we could merge businesses, Arfur Nower coach trips and your canal cruises would go down a treet,
Book an holiday or cruise from my corner shop,

I-spy have a walk alongthe canal bank were boats are moored and have a chat with the boat owners. They will let you know about the pros and cons

Don't forget to fit cannons on either side when cruising through poolstock.

Looked into it miself..... Boat 20 - 30 k for summat decent... Licence fee for waterways... Berthing fees (where you park it) insurance.. Maintainance... Full lift out of water for Hull painting every 4 yrs... Replacement anodes. Running costs.... A four mile trip takes you 2 hrs at four knots... Locks... Pain in backside.... Apart from that... Got miself a static instead.

The most popular boat name is Kingfisher.

At the last count 302 people decided that this was the name for their boat

I don't like boats because I get seasick. That said, I've had several. Our last one was called Harry's Dream.
We couldn't afford to go anywhere in it. It used 22 gallons of petrol per hour!
