No, it is NOT the correct definition. Green belt is a defined area with specific building and other regulations. Look it up before replying with condescending posts.

Greenbelt is to stop two towns joining together, problem is some greenbelt can be miles wide, so some of it can be built on, our house is on greenbelt but it was there before the greenbelt rule.

"See the land that wss green, no years? There's a clue."

No need to get uppity Firefox I was genuinely interested in which greenbelt land was being sold off.

However, if you were just shooting from the lip and making unsubstantiated claims that you hadn't bothered to check whether factual I can understand if you tried to avoid answering the question by being unnecessarily sarcastic.

Ask him a few difficult questions and he'll put you on 'ignore'( yea right) and then you can post what you like to him, he looks at it but because he's got you on 'ignore" he's give up his right to reply

He's correct. You missed out a comma. However, the comma wouldn't be before his username, it would be behind the previous word.

ie: "Now that wasn't too difficult was it, Firefox"?

"He's correct. You missed out a comma. However, the comma wouldn't be before his username, it would be behind the previous word."

No I didn't, if I had intended to pause before his name then you would have been correct. However I didn't.

If there was any comma required anywhere it would have been after the word "difficult".

ie "Now that wasn't too difficult, was it Firefox"?

Quite Firefox.

Is anyone like me and finds that as we get older the simplest points of grammar and structuring seem to be less and less obvious to us? (not that it really matters anyway)

I also find that with the simplest of words that in years gone by I wouldn't have even had to think about how they are spelt/spelled but now don't seem right until I put them down on paper/computer, and sometimes not even then.

No doubt it's an age thing.

It depends if you are addressing Firefox, directly.

"Now, that wasn't too difficult". "Was it Firefox?"

As this is a public forum, may I suggest that you were addressing all possible readers.
In that case, it should have been, "Now, that wasn't too difficult was it, Firefox"?

Replied: 5th Dec 2020 at 21:45

Posted by: 0 years (inactive)

But I wasn't addressing all possible readers, I was addressing Firefox.

Plus I had no need to use two sentences.

Your version below could prompt the answer, " No, it wasn't Firefox", as in, it wasn't him. In that case I would have been addressing the readership at large.

"Now, that wasn't too difficult". "Was it Firefox?"

One thing I am is a bit naiive with regards to the identities of posters.

Do you reckon there are many posters who have returned under a different name?

Who do you think are current posters who used to be known differently?

Jathbee. It is shocking AngelWood saying, "you all need to get out more boys".
There is no comma after 'more'. How many boys are they supposed to get out? I assumed it was an independant clause and was confused when she didn't suggest the further boys anyone should get out.
