I celebrate Lancashire Day every year.
I now live in what is considered by some to be Merseyside but I refuse to have the word Merseyside in my address. It is a non word, it means nothing. I always give my address as Lancashire. On Lancashire Day I wear a handmade Lancashire Rose brooch. I also sell handmade Lancashire Day Cards on Ebay and Etsy.

Mark Clyndes of Walkleys says, "More clogs were worn down south than in the northern industrial towns".
The London fish docks, fruit markets and the mines of Kent being particularly noted.

Clogs are still made in Yorkshire today, by Walkleys, who can trace their heritage back to 1946.

It is claimed that the first pair of clogs were made in Bolton in 1326.

Clogs were popularised In Lancashire by Flemish weavers who came here during the Industrial Revolution.

Red Rose cloggers changed the full wooden clog to include a leather upper.

Every mention of Greater Manchester in the media, by politicos ,and especially on radio and tv makes me sick!
Is it not merely an administration area dreamed up by some jobsworths which has put an extra layer of bureaucracy out there that we are paying for?
Someone correct me if I am wrong please but I consider there is no such place-Always Wigan, Lancashire for me!!!!

Lancashire is a county.

Tonker us old uns prefer to say we live in Lancashire because it by tradition sounds better than living in Merseyside or Greater Manchester. I dont no nowt about Hereldic signs so decypher the above coat of arms for us
