New Lockdown Imminent

I think that this has been inevitable, because folk are just not obeying the restrictions which have been put in force, over the last two months, and yesterday I was in Ashton, and it was just has busy has it always is on Friday, Gerard Street was packed, the traffic was chocca, the Gerard Centre was busy, but considering we are in this Tier 3 lockdown thing, I expected it to be something like it was last March and April when we were in full lockdown, then the roads were empty, and so were the streets, but of course the most of the shops were closed then.

The scientists said cack in September that a new full lockdown was needed, but the government (Dominic Cummins) said no, and look at the mess things are in today, and I expect that this time round a full lockdown will be mostly ignored too

A man, from Ashton (an Ashtonman!), who has c.o.p.d. comes home from a hospital appointment on the 320 bus.
Sat across from him is a woman who coughs and sneezes all the way home. Unbeknown to him, there's been a gas leak in his kitchen and his house is full of gas.
As he walks through the front door, he lights a cigarette. The gas catches fire, then explodes.
The man is thrown out of the door, by the explosion, and lands in the road where he's hit by a passing taxi.
When the emergency services arrive, he's pronounced dead by a doctor.

What's he died from?

C.o.p.d.?
Smoking?
Fourth degree burns?
Heart attack?
Hit by a taxi?

None of these, as he tested positive for Coronavirus during a postmortem, although he'd never showed any symptoms, and that's what it would say on his death certificate. "It's a formality"!

Something isn't right at all with this scaremongering tactics that every news channel goes on about. I don't wash my hands every time I breathe in and out, sometimes I go all day without washing them. It's a con, yes Covid19 is a respiratory virus, but and it's a big but, it's 99.8% survivable. So if you've got no underlying conditions then you should be fine. It may be one of the most highly infectious viruses of modern times, but no way is it as deadly as its being made out. It's simply is not true...
And as for wearing masks and washing with antibacterial soap, then think about our natural immune system, it will cease to exist if we don't let germs infect our bodies. We need to get poorly so the body can fight back, it's evolution and we cannot suppress it without our very existence being threatened. If masks stopped the virus then every used mask would have to be clinically disposed of, and there would have to be secure waste disposal bins on every street throughout the land, with the contents incinerated. And anyone who dropped a used mask on the street would be charged with endangering lives and arrested. That's not happening, ask yourselves why......

All that may be true FF but, If they don't lock us all down the infection spreads out of control, the hospitals will get bed locked and the people falling ill and needing ICU treatment, will not be able to get it, So many will die, mostly old ( like me) and also some young and middle aged, I also think it will need to be about 12 weeks as before to get the numbers down,

I know people are fed up but it's the only way. Stay home and break the chain of spread. Stop having people in your home, stop having parties and stop going to pubs and restaurants.

We have been on tier 3 lockdown for over a week so why should people be queueing at the supermarketI went to Morrisons at Leigh busy but plenty of room in the aisles. No shortages of items on the shelves and got what I required plus filled up with petrol after shopping(£1-06.7p a litre)

No travel within the UK allowed except for work,

No overnight stays anywhere, except for work.

Courts, Schools and Universities to remain open (so what's the bloody point then, when it is those places which are spreading the virus )

There as to be a vote on it this time, so it will be introduced into the House of Commons on Tuesday, and voted on for on Wednesday.

The teaching unions are calling for schools to be closed and rightly so. For every child going to school an adult is out on the streets twice a day mingling. Parents do not social distance on the playground and very few wear face coverings. I have seen this taking my granddaughter to school. Face coverings should have been made mandatory in all educational settings.

I agree, and I can't say that I am surprised, that he looks like a wet fish, because last thing he and every other bugger wanted, was another lockdown, but folk are stupid, they won't stop mixing with each other, if they did close the schools, then has well as stopping that aspect of spreading the virus, then maybe it would send a message to folk to STOP spreading the bloody thing around.

So, non-essential shops are shut, so more people are going to go to supermarkets. Pubs and restaurants are closed, so the few people that would go there will be going to supermarkets to buy drinks and food.

These rules are going to make people mix in greater numbers rather than spread them about in small numbers.

That is a bloody good point, it will make the supermarkets busier, which it did last time, and places like Home Bargains and B&M made an absolute killing, as folk did their decorating, and fettled with their gardens etc, and the supermarket profits did not suffer either, especially as their online sales soared.

Aldi has reinstated it's queuing traffic light system. Hopefully the others will follow. I shop online from Asda and have done for a few months now, but last night got less than half of my order due to no stock in the store. I am now looking for another supermarket to get my necessities from.

Shopping was a nightmare during the lockdown and it could be the same again. I cant see any reason why the government insist on shutting shops? If the shop owners follow the guidelines l cant see a problem if they apply the guidelines regarding wearing of masks, 2 metre rule etc. That way at least the shops will be making a bit of money and keep the economy going and we will all benefit.

And why can you go to a food establishment for a take-away, and you can take-away a bottle of pop if you want, but you can't take an alcoholic drink away?

That is a very good point. I cannot understand these guidelines? I was around the outskirts of Preston yesterday driving through. Some public houses were shut and yet others were full because they served meals?

they shut down in consideration of the staff welfare and to put screens in, place markers on the floor with 2 metre apart lines, Also to train staff in awareness of the benefits of claiming furlough money so the store could claim it to offset the losses of no sales, Then When Boris announced that people should get in touch with your bosses to find out if they can work safe, ( about 6 weeks later), they reopened the store as it is now and the queues were so big, you needed a taxi to get to the end, So, I suppose in a way they are already operating in a safe and distanced way , I still think its a Micky mouse lockdown and won't have enough effect on the hospital admissions,

I have been in Wigan this morning, and as I was driving down Standishgate to the lights at the side of Subway, there was a commotion and a bloke was legging it out of B&M bargains, he had a box under his arm, so I gathered he had got himself a bargain, and as the lights changed I drove in to Mesnes Street, and the bloke was legging it through the entry on Mesnes Street which leads to the back of Standisgate, so I thought well he ain't running for a bus is he

But what really concerned me was that Wigan was busy, it wasn't chocka, but it was very busy, and it looked like everyone was out, shoplifters, shoppers, kids, and it looked like every last one of them wasn't giving a rats bottom about social distancing

The infection rates are starting to rise, as the end of the recent lockdown is coming through the system now, and if the government doesn't do something now, next month we will be back in lockdown, so why don't we doo it now, like the Germans are doing, and save lives.

One major issue for Wigan is the pubbers and clubbers travelling to Liverpool every weekend for "a meal". Taxi Drivers should refuse to take them and if travelling by train they should be sent back when they arrive at Liverpool.

I think you are right, and I am wondering myself when we will be put into Tier4 and I suppose it depends on the daily infection numbers in the Tier3 areas.

We are currently 172 per 100,000. Liverpool was 92 per and has jumped to 107 per today. So it stands to reason that if the good folk of Liverpool are doing as they should, then the infection is being taken into the region from elsewhere.

They open the school again two week ago and now we are back up to 3000 infections a day so we are now on full lock again all from 5pm to day for the next 3 weeks i hope being open Christmas will not do the same to you all in the UK
