You can tell the cowboys!

If you've had upvc windows fitted and the fitters have stuck plastic 'trim' all around the frame, on the inside, to hide the damage they've done on removing the old frame, rather than re-pointing (because it takes time and they can't be arsed) - they're cowboys!

Always choose proper tradesmen and ask to see work they've done.

Avoid A&D Joinery.

I don't know if they're all good or not but the ones I've chosen have been excellent & I had to wait five months on a waiting list for my windows

What difference does it matter where the double glazing firm is based. It is the workmanship that matters. If a firm can keep its overheads down then maybe it will be reflected in the price of a job .Posh showrooms cost more for their upkeep and at the end of the day it is the workforce who have the skills to do the job.

Peter said, "at the end of the day it is the workforce who have the skills to do the job."

Or not. More often not.

PeterP, Your right it dosnt it matter where the double glazing firm is based. except when you have a gypsie name and come from Bickershaw
I find the best tradesmen are those that have their names landline numbers and addresses on the van.

Star delta - thanks for the recommendation, going with him. Seems okay.

This is for my friends moving up here and I requested recommendations for areas to live in Wigan.

Well, cannabis farm and the rest, millionnaires. Springfield road bought up. Thanks.
