Whups

It makes no difference to taxes due if you put assets into your wife’s name and you’re both UK residents and wealthy.
Philip Green’s wife is a resident of Monaco and is the sole shareholder in his holding company based in Jersey. They face a much lower tax bill than if they both lived in the UK.

It is to be expected, business has suffered greatly during the current crisis. The only certainty in this whole mash up is that the rich continue to get richer. Hats off to firms who managed their wage bills without resorting to the furlough scheme, unfortunately many couldn't and are now paying the price.

Enjoy your retirement, AngelWood, keep yourself busy and the old grey matter active, after a good rest of course.
