This last two days have been too hot to walk or sit out, so me and Mrs RMJ have had a drive out in the car with the climate control turned to a really cold temp..
Yesterday we drove up Rossendale and up to Haslingden Grane then dropped down to Turton.
Today, up Scout Lane Horwich, then through Abbey Village , Wheelton, Limbrick, Horwich and Whom, most enjoyable.

Fat Mick, you are a twonk!!!!!!!!! LOL
It’s ‘Scotman’s Flash’ NOT ‘Scotsman’s Flash’.
An easy mistake.

The weather is set to break tomorrow, 25C with thunderstorms, then down to 20C on Saturday.

Raymyjamie. Has that stables near you had to close down due to this Covid-19 bollox?
I noticed a couple of kids climbing over the gates the other day, today I see the fence is down and the stables all derelict!

It always seemed busy with plenty 'horse-girls' hanging about there!

Tonker, we normally get lines of riders walking nose-to-tail up and down our lane.
I‘ve not seen any for a while.
Not sure how this relaxing of the lockdown will affect the stables in the next few days.

Ray if its an easy mistake to make why mention it.

Yes today has been very hot, on my ride this afternoon I went from Shevy Crooke Wigan Top Lock Haigh Hall and Wigan park, I then went back along the cut to Appley Bridge then back up the road to Shevy

"Ray if its an easy mistake to make why mention it."

Juts having a bit of fun Mick, it wasn't meant to be malicious or critical.
I did put LOL and a smiley face.

Sounds like a good bike ride that, but a little too hot in my opinion.
It was lovely and cool in the car.

I agree with you Ray, but the trouble is there are lots of dead beats on these forums who just sit at home all day and attack the vulnerable like my good self

Just to change the subject slightly, looking at the new road in the picture, it looks superb, and a lot better than the derelict, eyesore of the railway embankment which was there before

you're noo rode mad you tommy, Once its up and running ( Monday), the environment will change forever, the sound of tyres on black stuff, all day/night long, sirens, horns, screechings , litter, road kill, accidents, yes, I know its progress but, was't it much better in the lockdown when roads was clear,no traffic, no fumes, clear sky's and no noise, well it was, was't it ?
hey ?

Yes it was brilliant Tom, lovely,, no traffic jams, and everyone was on the dole too

But here is a tale from yesterday, now I don't work in Wigan anymore, but yesterday afternoon I found myself in Hindley, and it took five minutes in traffic to drive from Chapel Green to the roundabout at the bottom of Ladies Lane, and I was trying to get to Wigan Town Centre, so I thought I will go the long way round, and so I went up Ladies Lane, and into Aspull that way, and coming down New Springs the traffic stopped in a jam, and I was on the top of the canal bridge, and it did not move for 10 minutes, so when the traffic finally moved down a bit I turned around on the Crown car park, and went back up Wigan Road into Aspull and then went through Haigh and along to Red Rock, towards the Bleachworks, and Boars Head, but the traffic was jammed waiting to get over the canal bridge, so it was an absolute nightmare, it really was, but if you go to St Helens, Warrington, Widnes, you are straight through, their traffic systems work, and they are getting more roads, Wigan is an absolute disgrace, so we don't just need one new road at the side of the flash, we need more motorways, and lots of um

Its a World problem Tommy, not just a Wigan problem and new roads are fuelling the problem , not easing it,
