Yes JoAnne the For Sale sign is still up the other day.
Last week the door was open but with a sign stuck on it saying this pub is not open, and inside I could see some men inside wearing nice suits and polished shoes

Hope it can be sold, Mick. It’d be a shame to see it left & derelict like the nearby Commercial Inn.

JoAnne the Kirklees is in a better spot than the derelict Commercial, and its a nice place to sit and watch boats from all over Britain going through the locks so it should be OK.

You’re right, Mick. Hope the pub prospers again under new owners soon.

Kirkless Hall Inn features on the heritage section of the Canal & River Trust’s website.

At one JoAnne boats who did the Wigan Flight could go into the pub and get a certificate saying that you had done it.

I’ve been told Kirkless Hall Inn’s now sold, but is possibly being converted into apartments.

It is better than the building becoming derelict, Mick. I wish they could convert The Commercial while they’re at it.

I liked today’s P-a-D of the narrowboat Goldi-Locks - Link

There’s a lovely vlog of Goldi-Locks descending the Flight with another narrowboat, Ellis (from 3:30 onwards): YouTube Link

Kirkless Hall Inn is still a pub after all. There’s a notice in the windows:

PUB TO LET
Please ring Arman Mobile No. ...........

Sorry, I didn’t get the number but it’s worth checking out if anyone’s interested.

Update: Oct 2022

Good news! The Kirkless Hall Inn has a new Landlord & Lady, and the couple hope to open on 5th Nov. There’s also a portacabin type building by the pub which will be a shop.
