The Met Police says six people were arrested as part of the inquiry, with five files passed to the Crown Prosecution Service.

"It is a very complex crime type, to be honest - there is a lot for them to look at and a lot for them to consider as to whether there is either sufficient evidence to charge and whether it is in the public interest so to do."


The party has previously welcomed the police investigation, saying: "Antisemitism has no place in our society and we are committed to challenging and campaigning against it in all its forms."

Those arrested, who were all held on suspicion of publishing or distributing material likely to stir up racial hatred, were:

A man in his 50s, who was held in March 2019 on suspicion of publishing or distributing material likely to stir up racial hatred. He was interviewed under caution at a custody suite in Birmingham and later released under investigation. A file was submitted to the CPS in September.
A second man in his 50s was arrested in the same month on suspicion of publishing or distributing material likely to stir up racial hatred after a warrant was executed at an address in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. He was interviewed under caution at a police station in the county and released under investigation. A file was also submitted to the CPS in September.

A woman in her 70s was held in March following the execution of a warrant at a home in the London borough of Wandsworth on suspicion of the same offence. She was interviewed under caution at a south London police station and released under investigation. A file was sent to the CPS in September.

In May, a man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of publishing or distributing material likely to stir up racial hatred after a warrant was executed at a property in the London borough of Newham. He was released under investigation, with a file being submitted to the CPS in September.

A man in his 60s was interviewed under caution in July on suspicion of publishing or distributing material likely to stir up racial hatred, following the execution of a warrant at a home in Bradford. He was released under investigation and enquiries continue.

A second man in his 60s was interviewed under caution in July, with a file being passed to the CPS in September.

Over the years, I have known many Jewish People, whom with one exception (maybe two) I could not describe them as untrustworthy. Upon consideration, they would overall rate quite well on the trustworthiness scale.

Of course you are entitled to be critical of the behaviour of the state of Israel, many Jewish people also are, so do not assume that such criticism also damns people who, surprise surprise, may actually agree with you.

I think it is very unusual to encounter an individual Jewish person who will try to exploit the fact that they have such a history of persecution: granted it does happen, but only very, very rarely in my experience.

Corporate attempts by various organisations to pursue their self-interest in this manner is a different matter, and from time to time I have been uncomfortable with their behaviour. But again, I would emphasise, at least SOME of my Jewish friends would also condemn such behaviour.

That may give you the answer why Jews have been persecuted as they are always a minority in Europe, same as blacks and Muslims. ie Trying to 'explain' antisemitism as due to either Jewish Deicide, or the consequences of the Jewish Revolt and their their subsequent treatment by Rome, - does not fit with the historical facts that examples of persecution are apparent PRIOR to such events.
