Help with a word?

Started by: xrh59 (inactive)

This is a word that i have used for years
since being a lad,And i got it from my father the word is "Homerdawn"or"Ommerdorn" not sure of spelling it may be an Irish word on the same lines as "eejit" for some one who is daft.Does anybody else use the word or know it's origins i have looked it up but found nothing.

You could be right on the meaning,Empress, because when it rained very hard it was said "hammerdown" and perhaps it was the Irish accent that pronounced it slightly different.Anyway like many words we used when we younger it may have been and missed used over the years.
