The lady sitting on the floor and linking the two women is Mrs. Baxendale. We lived next door to her in Park Road, Hindley, and she had a daughter Hilda who died quite young from a lung disease. What memories this picture has brought back.

I think the lady with the white hat sitting on the kerb third from right was my grandma Margaret Kidd nee Atherton she lived in Francis Street anybody remembers her please comment

The ladies sitting on the kerb from left are Mrs. Unsworth, Mrs. Sharples, Mrs. Baxendale and Mrs. Stringfellows

Are you sure the lady second from the left sitting on the kerb isn't Margaret Kidd nee Atherton.
