I remember Bill from school, we were in the same class at Spring view, I think he joined the Police force and moved away from Wigan, next I found out he was living in Alicante, which is were he died, good mate was Bill.I also know His brother Jack.

Bill, and I served in the Wigan Borough Police in the late 50s, to 1963-64. Bill transferred to the Surrey Police, and I transferred to the Kent Police. On retirement Bill went to live in Spain. Bill died four years ago. During National Service Bill served in the Military Police. I well remember meeting Bill at the top of Parbold Hill. He knew my future wife, as well as he knew me, and she was with me at the time. He persuaded her to get on the pillion of his motor bike, and then zoomed off down Parbold Hill. When he brought her back ten minutes later, she certainly didn't have the rosy cheeks she had when she left me, more of a chalk colour. She has never been on a motor bike since.
