players left to right: Keith Holden, Roy Evans?, Joe Egan (coach), Jack Cunliffe, Bill Sayer, Brian McTigue?, Frank Collier, and Bill Bretherton (front). If that's the Challenge cup it must be either 1958 or 59 but Keith Holden made his debut in the 1958-59 season so I would think it's 1959.

Yep, that's Brian McTigue.

What a great photo..Keith Holden used to go pea- picking with us when we were at School..and Brian McTigues family lived at the back of my hubby's house..in Beech Hill ..I had many a chat with his Mum when we were first married..she would be getting on then, but helped me with problems with my first baby...they were a lovely family.

The above should have read Keith used to go pea picking with us during the School holidays...memo to myself, don't type when it's bedtime.

My day job is a Macmillan Nurse at the Royal Preston Hospital and the Wigan RLFC lads turn up to the cancer ward every Christmas and bring gifts for patients and genuinely seem to lift the place. Staff love it too. keep it coming Wigan RLFC - being rooted in your locality is more valuable than can be possibly stated.
