John, I simply could not resist making "enhanced" photos from such a good photo, hope you don't mind. Most of these players were subjected to my shouts of "encouragement" from the terraces, especially Billy. Marvellous memories.
Just imagine if these lads could play now with all the advantages of today's players.

Yes i completely agree with you Bill , I was very proud of the fact that BILLY BRETHERTON was my cousin and to this day have very fond memories of ,and also that team i started watching WIGAN from around 1955/6 season which was my dad took me to my first match and was "HOOKED" ever since like you say it would have been great to those giants of the game with all that today offer's take car BILL. alan.
