An old postcard showing Wigan 'Boro' Football Club in the 1928/29 season.

It says on the postcard that Wigan 'Boro' were in the 3rd Division and who shortly afterwards resigned from the league on the 26th October 1931

I believe they had three strips during their short existence: plain, halved and hooped. The plain was green and more athletic than the the tattered plain shown here. No doubt the players 'had got stuck-in' throughout their seasons, though. But this is an almost sad picture. Come on, Wiggin!

This is the side who finished 4th in the Third Division North, Boro's highest placing. They also hosted Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup third round, the furthest in the competition the club would reach. The game drew a crowd of 30,443, the record attendance at Springfield
