Wigan Album

I remember this photo so well. The local Paper printed
a glossy type of brochure called "Wigans Way To Wembley".
The title of this particular photo was "There He Was, Gone"!
Terrific photo, and it's no bad thing to take a trip down memory lane, particularly when you remember this era.

I remember seeing this happen. I always thought the Hunslet player dived AFTER Billy had gone past, perhaps to make it look like he'd tried to tackle him!

I don't think that any scrum half would have wanted to take on BB in full flight. I was in the "Hen Pen" for this game. could'nt sneak out in to the main park. Great days!

Doubt if there's been a more exciting or talented player EVER! and I've been watching Rugby and Rugby League since 1947 to present day - saw him in his prime - he ought to have greater recognition in some way NOW - he's still with us for heaven sake.
