Can anyone help as to who this Rugby Team were? Supposedly a Wigan based team.

Looks like a School team? As the guy in the middle is wearing a school master's gown.

Some old looking pupils. Maybe it is an Old Boy's team.

There are 17 players in the photo and as there are 15 in a rugby union team that would mean the team pictured had only two reserves. A league team (13 players plus four subs) therefore would seem more likely.

Much more likely to be a Rugby Union school team, no Rugby League reserves in the 1920's and Union far more likely to be played in schools, especially a Grammar School which judging by the gown worn by the teacher, this seems to be.
