Wigan Album

Len Mason played second row for Wigan in 362 matches scoring 50 tries and 5 goals, before joining Keighley and then Bramley. Mason had been on the 1926/27 NZ tour of Britain which involved several skirmishes within the Kiwi party. Returning to New Zealand,seven players (not Mason) were banned for life by the NZ authorities and NZ did not return to Europe until 1939. Three of the tour party Lou Brown, Benny Davidson and Len Mason returned from New Zealand and signed for Wigan in the summer of 1927.
