Winger/centre who made 125 appearances for Wigan and scored 84 tries. He was purchased in 1957 for the then record fee of £9,500. He was sold to St Helens for another record fee of £11,000 in Jan 1961.

Now we're talking, this lad did run his weight, all 12 stones of it,one of the most fearless rugby players i've ever seen! Still holds the record for the most cosecutive appearances for Gt Britain,47.

What a superb tackler, one of the finest I've ever seen. I saw him stop Boston on several occasions when Mick played for Huddersfield - fearsome. Upset the Aussies too!

A good mate of mine was Mick, his 12 stone defied how strong he was, believe me. Lost touch when he signed for st helens
