Happy days! I see Terry Moran regularly, living on Platt Lane and not changed one bit -either out with dogs or fishing - see Paul Blan at Wigan rugby union club as his two sons are currently playing there (thankfully they both have their mother’s pace!) Kev Ashton is still Wigans oldest teenager! (father of former Wigan Warrior star Chris, now at Northampton RU)You can catch Bernard Coyle at St. Pats rugby club (usually dressed in somebody else’s work gear to give the impression he’s been grafting!) the last I heard of the ‘Doc’ was that he was living in Ireland but health was poor – update anyone? Tony Armstrong was our best player by a mile – later signed for Wigan – was that fast he could run round the world that quick and pat himself on the back!
Mr. Mc Dermot taught us all rugby and discipline – I remember asking him as a young kid what a ‘puff’ was! Quick as a flash he turned round and said – ‘A puff in Scholes is a man who prefers women to rugby!’

This was a great side, full of kids with talent and toughness. In a different era, many of them would have played pro and made a living out of a game they loved and excelled at.
