Pat Pheonix i.e. Elsie Tanner, along with local girl Jennifer Moss i.e. Lucille Hewitt, from Coronation Street. Kick off the charity football match at Springfield Park between Blackpool Showbiz XI and an All Stars Team. With the Mayor and Mayoress of Wigan. Alderman Tom Cobley and his wife.
I went to the game and I still have the programme.

I went to the match too with my dad. Got Pat Phoenix' autograph! Can't remember most of the players though, Wilf Mannion played ,I think.

I will see if I can dig the programme out. I remember it was played on a Sunday afternoon. I don't think the players who played, were the ones listed in the programme. A lot of the 'STARS' where appearing at Blackpool in various shows.

I also went to that match and remember that Elise Tanner got hit on the head (accidentaly) by a coin which was being thrown into a blanket for charity.

I got Harry Fowlers autograph and some more which I cant remember.

Pat missed the ball at the kick-off and almost fell flat on her back but was saved by a Rotary Club official who caught her. She later helped Jennifer with a blanket collection.
