John,
Do you know grandmother's maiden name?
My grandmother was a Davies in Downall Green and the name George seems a common one.
They lived in Spindle Hillock in their later years, but at various places in and around Rectory Road before that.
By the way, although I can't place you, George I do know. Not seen him for a very long time.
