I think I'm distantly related to you John. Was this lady from the Leyland Decorating firm on Manchester Road? I think it was William leyland? If so, William was my gt grandfather's brother Aaron. There father was James Leyland.

Ido believe there were two Leyland familys in Ince,a bit confusing because some had the same name.Mary was married to James Leyland and did have a son named William he was born after 1901 not sure of year.
They did have about 7 children one {john}being my grandfather, not sure what Williams occupation was but i do know most of the men were in mining.

My ggreatmum was a Alice Leyland who married a James Reynolds. Her date of birth would have been 1857 and would have married James around 1881 or 1882. She too was from Ince.

Hi Did Mary Leyland have two daughters called Edith and Elsie? Mary is the double of our Grandma who we know originated from Wigan.

I have a grandma, Elsie Leyland, who was 90 earlier this year, (2011) she had a sister, Mary.. is this the same person
