is that not the road outside the crown pub, I remember all the whittles and although I am a whittle as well I was not related I lived in little darly as well sheila !!!

hi aitch yes it is we lived at no 2 my grandad uesd to sit on a big stone near the railings that was the train line the crown pup was on theother side

She44. Were your Whittles related to the ones who ran Uncle Toms Cabin on Miry Lane, Wigan, way back in 1891? They were John Whittle (licensed victualler), his wife Lois and their two sons William and Thomas. My ancestor M Fitzgerald was their domestic servant. Heather from Doncaster.
