this is one of the best teams of that era

This match was part of a mini-tour by the French who were trying to establish Rugby League as a new sport.
Wigan won the match 30-27.
I can't work out why the photo is headlined "2nd Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers (?)

Jim Sullivan right in the centre. And the next Wigan player to his right, looks like 'Darkie' Bennett ?

The French player seated on Jim Sullivan's right is Jean Galia, the man credited with establishing Rugby League in France.
The first Wigan player on the left, seated, is Gwynne Davies, the great-grandfather of former Wigan winger Tom Davies now playing for Catalan Dragons.
I'm trying to trace any living family members in Standish, Wigan. Just wondering if you could be of assistance.
