Top far right is my great uncle, Albert Harris. The others, I suspect are his work colleagues.
He lived on Scot Lane as a child and then later moved to Standish Lower Ground before settling at Thickness Avenue, Beech Hill from the early 1910's until his death in 1943.
In 1891 he worked as a farm servant, in 1901 he was a Stationary Furnace fireman, then later worked as a hewer at Victoria Pit, Standish. I think this photo dates from his time as a furnace fireman. I'll be happy to hear if anyone recognises anyone else from this photo!
