The grave of Sir William Gorman,buried in the family grave in Wigan Cemetery in 1964, born in Wigan in 1891. He went on to become the judge who presided at the A6 Murder trial in 1962, which led to James Hanratty being hanged.
Gorman's father, also William, was a shopkeeper in Wigan - the details in Wigan Archives relating to the death of his younger brother, Laurance, in WW1, give an address of 27-29 King Street. The 1883 Wigan Directory has a William Gorman, Detective, in nearby Rodney Street.

Brilliant Rev, next time you are in there could you look for the grave of Lance Todd? Never seen it but am told it has a very impressive memorial stone.

Lance Todd's grave is on the left as you drive down to the Crem. About half way from the gates. You can't miss it I put a photo of it on here a few years ago
I think I've already put a pic of Lance's grave on the site. It's halfway down the main drive, on the left.
