Just a little more info they all lived in the Darlington St area my mother lived before she married in Harper St the house is no more.
Ken - Do you know of a Tom Barrett? You mention Barrett in your comment but Barrats on the photo. My relatives, Maggie, Mary and Jane Hodkinson came to Australia from Wigan about the time you say the Barett's did and as far as I know Jane Hodkinson married a Tom Barrett. Maggie and Mary were married here in Australia (Maggie was my great grandmother). Were the family friends or neighbours - how did all these children come to be in the same photo? Would love to know more. Linda
The spelling is Barrett. The Barrett children in this photo were th children of my great aunt Jane (Eliza Jane) and they came out to Australia with her sisters Maggie, Mary and possibly Two more. Whose children are the Hodkinson's in this photo?
The Barrett children in this photo are the children of Thomas Glanvill Barrett who married Eliza Jane Hodkinson. They lived in Melbourne Australia and Thomas was the brother of my Grandfather Herbert.
He died on a train travelling between Melbourne and Adelaide in 1937 and is buried in Melbourne. Any family members please come in contact.
My mother is on the old photo!!! She was Alicia ( not Alice) Arlene. Her father was the same as the other 12 children but he went on to marry her sister and she was my mum's mum. Mary Ann. I have been doing my family tree and know of the Australian relatives from my mum and from Lilian and Derek. I got a bit too jnvolved in it and now don't have the time for much research but as I am probably the last link, would be able to answer some questions.
