I have just spoken to Edna, she hasn't got a computer but her daughter, Margaret has so she will see this very soon. Thanks again

Do you know the identity of the elderly lady on the photo? My grandmother ( Peter's mother) lived next door in Lily Lane, but my relatives do not think that is her, she could be Aunty Sally's mother. My grandmother passed away about the time the photo was taken, before I was born in 1940.

Reference to my last comment, I was a little hasty in submitting the information, my grandmother Winstanley died in 1932 therefore she is not the one on the photo.

Aubrey a copy of this photo is filed under the Ainscough Family, in the People Album, and it says there that the older lady is Edna Ainscough

Hi Aubrey,i thought the older lady in the pic was edna aincough and logged them under the ainscough colume ,On the back of the original pic is written edna ainscoughs back yard
Now not so sure could be sarah janes mother,i have a picture of her mother and father .i will add to the album

definitely, as she also lived there, at 20 Lily Lane at this time.

John Thomas Fairhust aged 71yrs travelled by boat from Sydney Australia to visit his sister Sarah Jane-Abrahams-Winstanley in 1953 . He returned by boat starting out from London 16th September 1953 on board the Himalaya , giving the address he was staying at as 20 lilly Lane Bamfurlong. Must have been a bit of an ordeal as he passed away in 1955

Winstanley was my grandads name , robert (bob Winstanley). his parents were larrett and hilda may , they married in 1939 and his grandad was ernest Winstanley.
