The photo is of my grandad, Bill Finch and my nan, Annie Finch (nee Bradshaw) taken around 1959/1960 alongside their car, which I think is an Austin A55 Cambridge MkII (he had several editions of this car, the last being in 1967.)
They lived in Newtown but I don't know the location of this photo?

Derek, if your grandad's car is the Austin version of the farina style it is the A60. Other badge engineered versions with the same body shell were the Morris Oxford, Wolseley and (I think) a Riley.

There was the MG Magnette as well, my mate had one, it was two tone cream and blue.

The location looks looks a school field, with possibly a canteen and boilerhouse in the background. I think Ashton Sec Modern was similar to this but many schools were built like that around the same period.

Tom, yes he was on the committee at "the workers" in the sixties and seventies. How did you know him Tom?

Hi Derek,my dad also named Tom was on the committee.Fifties early sixties.I also went in the club sixties and onwards,thats how i met your Grandad.
