Edwin Davies 1877 - 1960 shown here in his military uniform. Edwin served with his regiment in the Boer War 1901 - 1902 in the Transvaal. He was born in Hindley lived there firstly - Yarrow St, then Mawdesly St and finally at 223 Liverpool Rd, he married Esther Armstrong in May 1909. ( we also have his medal for this campaign)

Can you please tell me what regiment this man was in as I have a photo of my gt grandfather in what looks to be the same uniform

Marie, sorry but we don't as yet know his regiment though we do know Edwin (who was my wife's granddad) served in the Boer war South Africa 1901 - 1902, he died aged 82 years in 1960.
