My uncle lived in Lower Ince all his life, except during WW2 - he served in Royal Navy including stints on destroyers HMS Tenacious and HMS Zetland in Mediterranean. He arrived home at end of war in 1945 suffering with malaria.
He worked at Gas Works in Darlington St and then Gullick Dobson, before retiring in 80's. He was a big fan of Wigan RL and was never happier than when they made it to Wembley.

Joe was a great guy. He was a good friend of my late fathers.He also knew my grandad. I put a photo on here a few years ago, Joe is on it in his "Brewers Arms" days. Maybe someone can put a link to it for me. Thanks.
