I saw some earlier photos of a walking day that were taken in Langton Avenue so I presume this is where the family home was. This as you know is just round the corner from where my Nan lived, Smalley Street. Sorry to hear your Sister had passed away
What an attractive lady!
Thanks for the commentations. It was the family home from 1947/8.
Sorry that your sister has passed away, what a lovely looking girl.
wow what a lovely pic peter i remember sooo well those bee hive hair do's i never had one myself just a bit of back comb on crown but my older sisters had bee hives, fab i always remember a young woman who served in olivers chippy on ince bar best chippy going , well she was a good looking girl with dusty springfield eyes but her jet black hair was in this winding bee hive i never saw anything like it it must have been at least 2 feet or more high, does anyone remember her ?
Yes, Josie, I remember her. I think there were two sisters both with the jet-black beehive hairdo, but I definitely recall the one in Oliver's Chippy. I think I've seen her in recent years down Platt Bridge, (though not for a long time now).
