Irene, I think you will like this photograph<g> One of the best wedding photographs I've seen.
On the right we have Lily Leyland and seated are her mother and father Sarah Catherine Leyland nee (Grindrod) and James Leyland. The Bridesmaid may be Elizabeth Isherwood. On Harry's side is his Mother Alice Isherwood nee (Rider) The hatters from Denton Manchester. The two brothers one sitting and the other standing behind him are, Charles Samuel Isherwood and John Rider Isherwood. I don't know the name of the Best man

What a lovely stylish wedding! I wonder if there was a report in the paper? Hats by Isherwood, shoes by Leyland!

Hi Kath I'm sure there would have been. As it appears to be a "High Society" wedding. I'll have a look in the past copies of the Observer when I'm next in the History shop.

Looking at the background, the arched entrance is that leading from Crawford Street/Hallgate into Wigan Parish Church Yard.

Yes it is the Parish Church yard. with the archway leading to Crawford Street.
