I wonder if this was my great uncle Dick, brother of Jack, who bore a passing resemblance to the photo above.

Hi Ric, My Pa Richard had a brother called Jack and another called Norman. In later life Pa looked more like an old Fred Astaire. He also smoked a pipe and whistled a lot.
He was a wonderful man and I miss his so much. Richards daughter Alison is my mum.

My great Uncle Dick had a brother called Jack, but not one called Norman, so I assume it's not the same one. He does look a lot like him. I read somewhere there were 750 Meadows in the area, and it's a common enough name, so we could still be (distantly) related !

I heard that Pa and his brother Jack didn't speak to their Brother Norman after WW2. I cannot find any trace of him or his family as yet. This could be why you never heard about Norman.
